Since we installed the tank 4 years ago, we have had nothing but problems, poor service, bad attitudes, and over the top costs.

We bought a 250 gal tank for our generator and installed it when our house was built. We paid the invoice and thought it was done. Over the course of a year we received rental invoices even though we owned the tank. Then, a year later get an invoice for 1K over what we already paid because "they forgot to charge us" part of the bill. After that, another year goes by and they call and say they didn't install it correctly and have to dig it all back up. So, our yard is torn up again.

After the billing issues and improper install, we have a storm where we need to use the generator. We call and schedule a refill of the tank a week before the storm. The storm gets here and I call to find out why we did not receive fuel. I was rudely told "we didn't guarantee we would get to you" which was BS. They were only interested in telling me we had several days of fuel left and they would get to it after the storm. Had they been honest, I would have gotten fuel elsewhere.

Luckily, we got power back before we ran out of propane. Had we not gotten power back when we did, we would have run out with no refueling. Almost two weeks after the storm we got a call saying they would be by to refill the tank.

As a cherry on top, when refilled, we were charged just over double the current rate for propane by other suppliers. This will be the last refill I ever make with Amerigas. I own the tank and will go elsewhere from here on out. Nothing but problems, lies, and poor service.

If there was any competetion in this service Amerigas would have to adopt a positive residential customer service culture and embrace it. We literally beg for them to deliver $5.85 propane to our home. Was informed this time delivery would be sometime between April 2-10th. They refuse to call, text, email or communicate at all when they have an idea of when they will be coming. It’s a crazy business model that only works because there is no option other than abandon the gas and go all electric.
