  THE OWNERS, CHRIS AND Lee Ann are awesome owners and genuinely address my concerns every time I have any. They provide excellent small town service! If they don't know the answer, they will find it.
  I started testing my water every week after my pool guy came to service my pool. Every week I had to add salt, acid or stabilizer! So, I fired my pool guy and now I continue having my water tested weekly here and now I do not have to add anything on a weekly basis except a cup or two of acid, which is normal. I'm saving about $60 a month over having pool service and now I have a cleaner, safer pool. I suppose these pool service guys just do a minimum to make their big money, ripping us homeowners and even businesses off.
  Just because your pool is clear doesn't mean it is clean. I opened my pool filter and was dismayed at how filthy it was. I cleaned it myself, which was so simple. I rinsed everything off, then I removed one grid at a time, noting exactly how it sat in place, rinsing it off thoroughly, replacing it, then repeating for the others. My pool guy was supposed to be doing that one or twice a year. He said it was a $100 extra because he said it had to be acid washed at his shop! The garden hose cleaned it almost to new-like condition.
  I challenge everyone who has pool service to take a water sample to Pinch-a-Penny the day after your pool guy shows up because I sincerely believe 99% of you will be dismayed at what you find.
